My lot looks like pure gravel. Is that good for a drain field?
Counterintuitively, not always. A drain field doesn't just need drainage — the soil has to actually treat the effluent as it moves through. Very coarse gravel lets wastewater pass too fast for proper treatment, which is why some gravelly Oyama and Winfield lots end up needing pressure-dosed or timed-dosing designs. The percolation test tells the real story.
What do lake setbacks mean for my Carr's Landing property?
